Kipu Falls, Kauai Hawaii

Kipu Falls is a small 25 ft. waterfall located south of Lihue in Puhi. The waterfall is popular because it has a swimming hole and is great for jumping off the falls into the pool or by a rope swing.
Kipu Falls can be accessed from a trail alongside Hule’ia Stream, on Kipu Rd. just before the bridge. The trail itself is overgrown but leads down to Kipu Falls. There is really not a good view of the falls from here. But this is where you would go if you wanted to get to the top of the falls for jumping off. On the other side of the stream is a ladder, which would allow you to get down to the swimming hole (or get back up after jumping off the falls).

DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 50 west from Lihu’e. One mile past Puhi, at Mile Marker #3, turn left on Kipu Road. At the ‘Y’, bear to the right. Turn left on the dirt road just before the bridge. Park your car by the gate and walk downstream approximately 5 minutes to the waterfall.
