Iliau Nature Loop Kukui Trail, Kauai Hawaii

Just past mile marker 8 on the way up to Waimea Canyon is the trailhead and parking area for the Kukui Trail and Iliau Nature Loop. The nature loop is about .3 of a mile that takes you to the rim of the canyon then winds you back to the road. Kukui Trail winds 2000 feet down to the canyon floor over 2.5 miles. Don’t forget that you have to come back up Kukui Trail so leave yourself plenty of energy.
The first mile of the trail has lots of dramatic overlooks. The sun shinning through the canyon makes for some great photographs.
